Busy Times

Man life is busy these days! Our wedding is 1 week from Saturday and I'm starting to stress about getting everything done. Everyone is asking me if I'm getting nervous. I keep saying I'm not nervous about getting married, but nervous about the wedding itself and everything being ready. My Dad and Christian have been working their bottom's off trying to get everything finished at the house. Hopefully by this weekend it will all be together. I have a bunch of little things to do, but I plan on getting it finished this weekend. Right now I am out of town for work about 3 hours away, so I can't anything done this week. I'm here until Friday. I tried getting out of it but couldn't. I didn't realize when I said yes to go on this trip that I would still have so much to do. I should have known better. I also just hate being away alone. I know it is sad, but I always miss Christian, Buddy, and home so bad when I'm gone, even if it is for just a night or two. I also hate it when Christian is gone for work and I'm at home. I get lonely and sad. Luckily neither one of us has to travel too much for work. Other than planning the wedding life is good!!! Only 10 more days and I'll be Mrs. Adams!!!

Closet Cleanout

So tonight I decided to tackle my guest room closets. One of the closets was so bad when you opened the door you wanted to run to keep from anything falling on you...lol! I feel like I got a lot accomplished and got rid of a lot of stuff! Two boxes of junk, one bag of junk, and one pile on the floor! It's nice to see the floor and walls again of the closet. The other closet I took all of my dress clothes and them in there. I'm still working on that one. I totally meant to take before and after pictures but I forgot...oops! Tonight was going well...I was happy I was cleaning out my closets, tomorrow is Friday, Christian's homecoming for his college is this weekend and a friend of mine is getting married....and then I get a phone call to hear that my Grandfather who has had lung cancer and who had surgery last week may not make it through the night. It put a real damper on the night. He has been doing really well and they even moved him into a normal room yesterday and then today they said he had Phenumoia and had to move him back to ICU. Last I heard they were putting him on a ventilator and chances are he won't make it through the night. I hate it so bad and just want the best for him. We are in NC and he is Indiana, so it makes it tough to figure out what to do. Stay or Go or Just Wait?? In the meantime I'm just going to pray and let God handle it!

Only 20 More Days!

We have less than 3 weeks until we are Mr. and Mrs. I can't wait but I'm starting to stress trying to make sure we have everything in order. Tonight Christian and I went to the mall trying to find groomsmen gift but we had no luck. Do you guys have any suggestions? I feel like we have a made a little process. Yesterday I got bubbles for our exit and ribbon to tie around them. I got a frame for our guest to sign and the rest of our center pieces. I got stuff for my favors. We also got our marriage license on Friday. I spoke with the preacher and DJ. Check, Check, Check....I love being able to check stuff off my "To Do" list. I'm so ready for the day to be here so I can stop stressing.
Other than wedding stuff yesterday. I scrubbed our kitchen and did laundry. I am trying to get the house spotless for the wedding, since a lot of our family members are coming from out of town and they have never seen the house before. I also made Cowboy Chili yesterday for dinner and it was delicious. I found it Jennifer Francis' blog and have been wanting to try it.
COWBOY CHILI
1 Whole chicken or 4 chicken breasts
3 cans of chicken broth
1 can black beans
1 can pinto beans
1 can black eyed peas
1 can yellow corn
Small can of tomato sauce1 jar of Thick-n-Chunky Salsa
1 Pack of taco seasoning
Boil and cut up chicken. Rinse and drain beans and corn. Mix all ingredients together in large pot, bring to boil, let simmer 30 minutes. I made mine in the crock pot and let it cook all day. I also corn bread muffins and it is good to top with shredded cheese and sour cream!

Happy Birthday Day To Me!!!

Today was my 25th birthday! I've had a good day and have enjoyed my birthday very much! My mom and I went to my youngest nephew's first football game and it was cute to watch all the little boys play. After the game was over my mom, sister, and me went to eat lunch at Pita Delites with is a little Greek restaurant. After lunch we walked around a few stores at the shopping center we were at. Here is a picture of my yummy red velvet birthday cake that a co-worker brought me yesterday. I love red velvet so I was extremely excited about this!
Christian and I met the rest of my family tonight at Bravo for my birthday dinner. I'm not sure if everyone has a Bravo, but is so good and way better than the Olive Garden.
My youngest nephew Jacob and myself waiting to sit down.

Here is Christian and I. This a horrible picture of me and my hair looks awful, but it is the only one I got of us.
My oldest nephew Kenneth making his pizza. It was so cool they had a brick of over and pizza bar where the kids can come and make their own pizza!
My parents with Jacob! If you are wondering what the mark is Jacob's forehead, it is a carpet burn.
Kenneth and I after dinner! I can't believe he is almost as tall as I am now. My sister and I are 10 1/2 years apart, so I was only 12 when she had Kenneth. And yes my sister and I are full blooded sisters by the same parents. So many people think we are half sisters or something b/c of the age difference.
One last picture of me with Kenneth and Jacob!
I love birthdays! I love the day being all about me...HA.

SHOW US YOUR LIFE - Recipe

So I've never really cared about cooking that much up until lately. Maybe because I'm getting married next month and I feel like I should be able to cook for husband. I don't really have many recipes, most of them are what I've got off blogs or from Kelly's Korner. So I'm excited about this week and to get some ideas!
Well I just got a crock pot for my bridal shower and oh my goodness I am in love! It is so easy to make pretty much anything. Last weekend I made ribs in it. I got up that morning and put them in the crock pot with salt, pepper, and bbq sauce. I let them cook for about 8 hours and oh my goodness they were so good and fell off the bone.
Another thing I tried with the crock pot is put chicken breasts with cream of mushroom, cream of chicken, salt and pepper. I let it cook for about 6 hours and server over rice with rolls. Very yummy and easy!
I'm sure all of you have seen this recipe on Kelly's recipe blog but this is very big hit with the future hubby. He loved it...
Poppy Seed Chicken
Ingredients:-2 or 3 chicken breasts, boiled and cut in small pieces-1 16 oz sour cream-2 cans cream of chicken-2 tbls of poppyseeds (I don't measure - I just shake a ton in)-Ritz crackers-1 stick of butterMix the first 4 ingredients and put in a baking dish.
Cover with crushed up ritz crackers.
Melt a stick of butter and pour on top.
Bake for 20-30 minutes at 350.
This is so good and we also serve this over rice!
So there you have very simple....but I'm learning ;) haha

Fall..Please Come Back!

The weather was really nice the last week or two, but then this past weekend and week it was HOT again. I'm so ready for fall I can hardly stand it. I'm ready for cool weather, pumpkins, chili, lazy days at home with the windows open, boots, jeans, long sleeve shirts, and everything else that comes with fall. Today has just been a rainy yucky day and all I've wanted to do was lay on the couch. This has really just been a normal week, not much to blog about. I'm looking forward to Friday b/c I'm taking a 1/2 day at work and Saturday b/c it is my birthday! I don't really have anything planned except for going to dinner with Christian and my family. I also need to take some time and get last minute wedding stuff together. We are getting married 3 weeks from Saturday! I just can't believe it is right around the corner! I can't wait for my honeymoon to relax!

Spoiled Buddy!

We all know that I love my dog so much and I treat him like a human! Yesterday while my mom and I were out running errands, I had to run into Petsmart to get a Buddy a new toy. It is so funny when I bring the bag home with the toy, it is like he knows it is for him. He will sit there and stare at the bag until I give him the toy. I guess he can smell it....lol! I got him a red football yesterday that squeaks. What was I thinking? He has played with it non-stop! He has so many toys and it is funny when I come home from work b/c he usually has them all out on the living room floor when I get home from work. I guess he gets bored during the day!
Tonight after work we went to my parents house for dinner! We had salmon patties, cheese potatoes, macaroni and cheese, cucumber salad, and corn on the cob....yummy! Well I thought it would be funny to let Buddy eat the rest of corn off the cob! He isn't suppose to have much table food but I sneak it to him when Christian isn't watching!
It was so cute watching him eat it with his front teeth! He actually did a good job and got it off! That dog will do anything for food. He's a big boy...a big whopping 108lbs!

Just A Good Sunday!

The cookout went great last night and we had such a good time! The food was yummy and the company was great! Here is my friend Moe and I hanging out waiting for the burgers and hot dogs!
Today was a good day!
Christian and I met my parents at the farmers market. We walked around and picked out what color flowers I want for the flower beds for the wedding! It was fun!
They had so many beautiful bouquets of flowers! My mom and I both got a bouquet for our kitchens for only for $5!! I just love them!
Here is Christian and I with my parents!
I want one of these swings on my back porch!
After we left the farmers market we went to lunch and then my mom and I went shopping. Dad and Christian went back to my parents house to work on stuff for the wedding. I made dinner for my parents tonight! We had yummy BBQ ribs and Chicken, pasta salad, corn on the cob, and rolls! I hope you all have had a great weekend! I wish Monday wasn't tomorrow!

Our Weekend So Far

Last night after work I went to Hoppy Lobby while Christian went to my parents to help my dad on the basement for the wedding. I got two really pretty pictures with crosses on them for $5 each. I will share pictures of them as soon as I find a place for them in my house! Sometimes you can't beat the clearance items there. Later that evening I went over to meet my parents and Christian for dinner. We also met my sister and her family for pizza!
This morning we got up and I ran to Target. We had a house warming party to go to for a girl I graduated with from college. It was nice to see here because I haven't seen since graduation. Her and her husband are expecting their first baby in April . Christian and I loved their house so much! After we left we just drove around looking at houses and ate lunch. Now we are home being lazy. Christian is napping on the couch and I'm playing on the computer. We have a cookout we have to go to at 7. It should be a good time! Hope you all have a nice Saturday!

What Have I Been Up To???

I haven't blogged in over two weeks. Every since we got back from vacation on August 9th, I have been sick off and on. I would get sick for a few days, miss work, then feel better for a few days. It has been that way for a month and I was so sick of being sick. Last week I went back to the doctor for the 3rd time and I'm finally feeling better. I decided while being sick and still trying to plan a wedding I would stay away from the computer. It would kill my head anyways to read anything on the computer.....so that I why I haven't blogged lately.
Yesterday was exactly 1 month until our wedding! I am so excited and can't wait for the day to get here for two reasons. One I can't wait to marry my best friend and such a wonderful person, two I am so tired of wedding planning. I'm ready to just relax and be married!
This past weekend my sister and I took my two nephews to get sized for their tuxes! They are going to be so cute all dressed up and I can't wait to see them! This is my oldest nephew Kenneth posing with the jacket on!
Here is my youngest nephew Jacob posing. This one is such a handful and I just know he is going to be such a mess at the wedding!

Here is one of my best friends Moe and I last Saturday. We went to celebrate our friend Erin's bachelorette party. I felt so bad that day and was afraid I was going to miss it, but dragged myself out of the house and made myself go! So glad I did, it was nice to spend the evening with the girls!

Here is a little collage I made of Erin opening her gifts!

The weekend before that was Erin's bridal shower! I actually felt good on this day! I know this isn't the best picture but it is what I could find. Erin is getting married two weeks before me! I can't wait for her wedding, it will be such a good time!
