Macey's Birth Story

Today was my original due date, but we are thrilled that Macey is already here with us!
I was induced last Wednesday October 20 and Macey joined us Thursday October 21 at 9:15 It was a very long delivery but totally worth it.  Here I am in the hospital parking lot.
I was to check in at 7:15 on Wednesday night and they started me on an IV and gave me these pills every 4 hours to start thinning my cervix and get things rolling.
I was started on pitocin at 6:00am on Thursday morning. I still hadn't made any progress and was only at a 2 or so. My doctor broke my water at 9:00am and oh man did the contractions start coming, so I had my wonderful epidural around 10:00am. I do not think I could have made it through the day without it. Later that afternoon things started to get more intense and they ended up giving me more pain medicine. I was checked around 5:00 and I was still only at a 5. At 6:00 I started complaining with a lot of pressure and they checked me to just make sure and I was a 9 1/2! The doctor said I could start pushing in 15 minutes, so we got all my family back up there and they prepped the room for delivery. Well they checked me again and I was still at 9 1/2 and a small part of my cervix was still there. We ended up waiting 3 more hours trying to get to a 10 and it never happened. I did try pushing a few times but I made no progress. I was so worn out and drugged up that I really do not think I would have had the energy to push. Around 9:00 her heartrate dropped down to 55 bpm and we made the decision to do a C-section. I was out of enegry and I started getting nervous about the heartbeat. Once we said yes to the C-section, we were on our way to the OR in no time.
I was so nervous about the C-Section and could not stop shaking, but all the nurses were so sweet during labor and delivery.
Macey was born at 9:53 and I was so happy to see my baby! It took her a few seconds to start crying and those seemed like the longest seconds of my life.

First time seeing my sweet baby!!! I was so out of it at this point, but it was the best moment of my life!!!
Christian took Macey to the nursery and they finished up wth me and I was in recovery for about 2 hours! I ended up sleeping for those 2 hours, but when I woke up I was ready to see and hold my girl!!!
Family of three!!!!
We love Macey girl and you are the best gift ever!!!

Today is mine and Christian's 1 year wedding anniversary!!!
This past year has flown by and I know the years to come will go by even faster with a little one in the mix.
I never ever would have imagined last year that I would be 9 months pregnant on our 1 year wedding anniversary, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I couldn't ask for a better gift other than our precious baby girl!!!

Macey's Nursery!

We finished Macey's nursery a couple of weeks ago! I was so relieved to have it finished and ready for her!
I'm really happy with how it turned out. I wanted super girly, but I didn't want tacky or clutter.

Here is her little side table that her daddy made!
I wanted to paint a canvas for her room, but I am NOT creative. So a girlfriend helped me get started and I finished it. I'm proud of myself for my first painting :)
I just love this little towel hook we got at Hobby Lobby! It is one of my favorite things in her room!
Here is her crib with her name above it! We got the letters from HL and Christian painted them black. We were going to hang them up with ribbon, but decided this was easier! You can see in the left corner our packed bags for the hospital!!!
 Another view of the crib!
The changing table and mirror. I'm hoping she will want to use these two pieces for a while!!!

I'm still looking for a cute bow holder for her room! I'm hoping I'll find one at some of the fall craftshows that are coming up! I also have a little rocker that my grandmother is going to refinish for me that my sister and I both used!

I can't wait to bring my sweet girl home and  show Macey her nursery! I go in there and just look around and imagine her little self laying in her crib or I go through all her clothes and can't wait to dress her up!

Pregnancy Update:
I went to the doctor yesterday and I am 1cm! I understand I can stay there for weeks, but I'm still excited to make some progress from Monday. My belly looks like it dropped overnight. I got up this morning and it is so low! It may not be too much longer until I get to meeet my baby! Please keep us in your prayers for a safe and healthy delivery whenever it may be!!!

37 Weeks - Full TERM!!!!

                                                             37 Weeks - Full Term
 Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 37 Weeks
Size of baby: According to our ultra sound at 35 weeks Macey weighed 6lbs and 3 oz. We have another ultra sound on Thursday and I'm excited to see her weight!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained 26lbs
Maternity Clothes: Yes-but lately I'v lived in big T-Shirts and PJ Pants since I'm on bed rest.
Gender: Girl!
Movement: Yes but her moves have slowed down and are harder now. She has started moving a lot at night now and early morning.
Sleep: I haven't been sleeping well at all. It makes it hard to sleep when I have to lay around all day.
Symptoms: Crazy Indigestion and it is about to kill me, my body hurts like crazy, and I go to the bathroom 8743 times a day.
What I miss: Getting comfortable and being able to have caffiene.
Cravings: Nothing this week but in the past weeks I've lived on Subway veggie subs and ginger ale!!!
Best Moment this week: The cool weather outside and hitting the full term mark!!!
What I am looking forward to: Our ultra sound on Thursday and meeting Macey hopefully soon!!!!

So I know most of you have probably read on Twitter that I'm on bed rest. My blood pressure has been up since around 28 weeks, but in the past few weeks it has been higher. My doctor took me out of work and wants me off my feet and on my side 50% of the day, trying to keep it from getting higher. They were talking about inducing me at 36 or 37 weeks, but obviously that didn't happen. Which I'm thankful for! I want Macey to come when she is ready and I didn't want to have her before 37 weeks. They are not letting me go past 39 weeks since blood pressure tends to get higher towards the end of pregnancy. We go back on Thursday and we have another ultra sound to check her growth and my fluids. Hopefully we will know something soon!!!

Here are some pictures of the past weeks!!!
Please ignore the no make up and wet hair. I've decided there is no point in getting ready every day to lay around the house!

I have not clue why half of this post isn't centered...

Baby Shower!!!

So I know it has been forever since I've done a post. I really haven't  felt up to it. I will be 37 weeks tomorrow and will do a pregnancy update then.
My family baby shower was on September 11 and it was so nice!!!
Here is a picture of some of the presents before guest started arriving. We got so many nice things and feel so blessed to have such a good family and friends!!
Here is the nursery after we brought home the gifts. My mom came over the following weekend to help me organize everything!
Here is Macey's sweet swing. I can't wait to bring her home and put her in it.
My work also had a shower for me and got us some nice things, but the big gift from them was our stroller and carseat!!!
Christian put the carseat in the car last weekend! It feels so real now everytime I get in the car and see her seat. I can't wait to bring her home in it :)
I have pregnancy and nursery pictures to share this week, so stay tuned :-)
